IFA 2014 is underway, and as persistent innovators we’ve made sure we’re there to enable the devices you love with continuous advancement. This year we’ve expanded our distribution channels and broadened support, offering a new development kit for developers to simplify Wi-Fi™ use for products connecting to the Internet of Everything (IoE).
This will prove useful for developers and consumers alike, and popular news outlets have all reported on the benefits from our news announcement. By opening worldwide distribution channels we’ve streamlined access to our low-power Wi-Fi platform, which is particularly handy because it enables full-featured wireless in a diverse set of connected products while minimizing power consumption. Creative souls could deploy this in any number of devices, from light bulbs to security systems to remote controls, or greater SmartHome automation in general.
As consumers and service providers see the growing value of the IoE, we are proud to enable developers with the latest tools and technologies for a new class of devices. Our newest development kit includes support for AllJoyn™ (a project from the AllSeen Alliance), a hosted mode to pair the QCA4002/4004 chip with a microcontroller, cloud connect services with 2lemetry’s IoT platform ThingFabric™, peer-to-peer connectivity via Wi-Fi Direct®, and dynamic power adjustment with Green Transmit (Green Tx). The kit is available now, as well as the QCA4002/4004 modules (launched last September).
In addition to the release of our dev kit, we’ve also got a demo of our own at IFA, exhibiting the wonders that AllJoyn and the IoE have to offer.
All in all, it’s been a great show so far and we are both excited and proud to help create the fabric of the Internet of Everything.
